About

I come from a long line of farmers and ranchers by way of the Texas Panhandle, but I am rather fond of western South Dakota. For the past 20 years, I have been working as a Web Designer creating, implementing & maintaining websites and web apps. Currently I am self-employed, working freelance.

I have a degree from Texas A&M University in Engineering Technology, with emphasis in Engineering Design Graphics. I also studied photography at Amarillo College.

My work as a freelance Web Designer has been a job title that encapsulates a variety of roles including front-end engineer, graphic/UI designer, implementation engineer, site builder and web developer— all working on the front-end codebase and graphics UI. About 50% of my work has revolved around the traditional web design role — designing the user interface through the use of sketches, wire-framing, creating the graphical components, developing working prototypes, and coding the html/css/graphics for final delivery to the clients front-end engineers and/or web developers.  The other half of my job has not only been the role of designer, but also implementing the design and maintaining the client’s website, often using CMSs such as Drupal, Joomla and WordPress.
